24-hour emergency assistance
A live person to call, with backup staff ready to respond any hour of any night.
Independence gets a lot safer when there's always someone to call. 24-hour emergency assistance means a real person answers at 2 a.m., talks the situation through, and sends backup staff to the home when it's needed.
What it looks like
- A phone line answered by a live person, around the clock.
- Staff on call who can come to the home when a problem can't wait.
- Clear plans made in advance: who calls, who responds, what happens next.
- Follow-up with the family and case manager after every incident.
Who it's for
People who can live independently most of the time but need a reliable safety net for the moments they can't. It's also for families who sleep better knowing that net exists.
How it's paid for
24-hour emergency assistance is covered through Minnesota's waiver programs (CADI, DD, BI, CAC), typically at no cost to the family, and is authorized by the county case manager.
