Getting hired is the start, not the finish. Employment support keeps a job coach in the picture, heavily at first and then lighter as confidence grows, so the first paycheck turns into a career.
What it looks like
- On-site job coaching while the person learns the role.
- Help with workplace routines, communication, and problem-solving.
- Regular check-ins with the person and the employer as support fades to maintenance.
- Quick re-engagement if duties change or challenges come up later.
Who it's for
People with disabilities who have a community job and want to keep it, grow in it, and be genuinely valued at it.
How it's paid for
Employment support is covered through Minnesota's waivers (CADI, DD, BI, and CAC) at no cost to the family, with ongoing authorization through the county case manager.
